Review on Central Asia

According to the Sputnik Uzbekistan, Tashkent will host a dialogue in the new C5 + 1 format by foreign Ministers of the Central Asian countries and Afghanistan. The meeting is scheduled for the end of March. Representatives of the United Nations Assistance Mission to Afghanistan will take part in the event. The new format should be an effective platform for discussing a set of regional topics, as well as developing joint measures to ensure peace and sustainable development of the region, experts said.


Uzbekistan and the United States will conduct joint research on Central Asia. According to the Sputnik Uzbekistan, the corresponding memorandum of cooperation is signed. The parties agreed to organize research and practical conferences as well as round tables regarding the priority topics of international development and regional security. Today the United States is interested in the reforms taking place in Central Asia. First of all, the areas like improving the system of state building, reforming the legal system, ensuring interethnic harmony and religious tolerance, as well as regional policy are of importance. The Central Asia Program aims to become a bridge between expert communities and a platform for discussion.


According to the Podrobno News Agency with reference to deputy director of Foundation for Development of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan, Gayane Umerova, archeological artifacts found in Uzbekistan will be presented in the Louvre in 2021. A delegation of the French Museum will arrive in Tashkent to discuss this topic in May. In addition, today the Foundation is going to organize a number of major events abroad including the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery in Washington and the Albertina Museum in Vienna.  The Uzbek pavilion will be opened at the Venice Biennale in Italy. Not only Uzbekistan, but also the Central Asian countries will have their first experience of participating in the prestigious art event.
