Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan signed a number of documents on bilateral cooperation in various fields, Asia Plus reported. The parties focused on the development of cooperation in the mining, light and food industries, construction and agrarian sectors. In addition, the parties outlined a plan for cooperation between the Batken province of Kyrgyzstan and the Sogdy region of Tajikistan to strengthen neighborly relations and friendship for 2017-2020.

The author reported on the visit of U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for Central Asia and Afghanistan Affairs Henry Ensher to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The publication notes that Henry Ensher expressed interest in strengthening and expanding cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, particularly in the economic sphere. Thus, the U.S. intends to intensify the process of pouring American investments in the Central Asian countries.


The Kazakh newspaper "Liter" published an article about the establishment of a regional committee for the protection of the Western Tian Shan. This cross-border area is located on the territory of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The committee will include representatives of accountable bodies and scientific organizations, and experts from each side. In addition, according to the Akipress agency, the countries are obliged to ensure the safety of the transboundary Western Tian Shan within the territories of their states.
