Economic Attractiveness of EAEU

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is becoming recognized as a reliable economic partner. Cooperation of the EAEU with the largest unions opens up new opportunities for increasing the turnover and economic growth of the member countries. The prospects of the partnership between the EAEU and the European Union were discussed at the tenth Eurasian Forum in Verona, Italy. The event was attended by representatives of over a thousand companies and experts from more than 20 countries. All of them are interested in cooperation with the EAEU, an association with a common market of 180 million people.


- From the very beginning, we were aware that the Eurasian Economic Union is an initiative of Nursultan Nazarbayev. We launched our forum as the Eurasian. Kazakh Invest is taking part in the forum this year. We are trying to let more Kazakh companies to participate. Kazakhstan is conducting a wise foreign policy. We consider your country as a strong mediator for developing relations with Eurasia thanks to its central geopolitical role in the region.

In the Palazzo della Gran Guardia, the national company "Kazakh Invest" held a number of meetings as part of the forum to let foreign investors learn about Kazakhstan’s doing business conditions.


- It is very important that large transnational companies are participating in this forum. We are demonstrating our investment opportunities, favorable business climate created in Kazakhstan. Glencore is launching new projects in Kazakhstan. Eni noted that their activity in Kazakhstan is the most successful in Eurasia. A large Chinese delegation is participating today; they are planning to implement 51 projects in Kazakhstan.

European businessmen are showing high interest in cooperation with the Eurasian business community. Entrepreneurs intend to give a new impetus to the development of trade and economic relations between the EU and the EAEU.


- We are here to restart a dialogue and cooperation between the EAEU and the European Union. We should discuss the prospects of possible cooperation more in-depth, as the role of the EAEU is growing.

The European Union continues to be the main trading partner of the EAEU. The share of the EU countries in the foreign trade of the Eurasian Economic Union makes up almost 50%.
