National Council of Public Trust holds its fourth meeting

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the fourth meeting of the National Council of Public Trust, which was held online. He emphasized that the Council regularly discusses issues on the country's development, implements important initiatives and develops proposals to reform the areas of state policy. The meeting participants discussed issues of concern to Kazakh citizens as well and proposed ways for their solution. They opined that the information on the work of the government authorities should become more transparent. Environmental issues were of special attention as well. Experts offered to develop the national program of sustainable growth, modernize the banking sector and apply more effort to solving housing and employment issues. President Tokayev highlighted the relevance of the proposals and expressed confidence that they will be implemented next year.

“Over a year has passed since the establishment of the National Council of Public Trust. This period verified that the foundation of the council was indeed necessary. It has turned into effective institutional structure capable of establishing a constructive dialogue between the government and society. The Council members work out important for our country solutions and make efforts for their implementation. Certainly, all three previous meetings were beneficial. The idea of increasing efficiency of public administration is a core issue in the state-of-the-nation address of this year. In general, the reform of the public administration system is in itself a large-scale task. It is fair to say that this is a source of all reforms and the main basis for the modernization of the society. The Council decided to start this reform from restructuring of state planning,” Tokayev said.
