Kazakh government reviews progress in implementing employment support measures

Nearly half a million people will get new jobs under the Employment Roadmap, ‘Yenbek’ and other sectoral state programs in Kazakhstan. Such data was presented today, on August 18, at a government meeting. This year, 743,000 people have already been employed under the state support, and by the end of the 2020, this number is expected to reach 1.22 million. Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin instructed the Government to take measures to optimize the business processes of the Electronic Labor Exchange, develop proactive coverage of employment measures and strengthen monitoring of their implementation. Governors of the regions of Kazakhstan must form a profile of each unemployed individual and carry out a targeted work to help them get a job.

“Planned employment indicators should be achieved, and special attention should be paid to the creation of permanent jobs. Kazakh Ministry of National Economy and Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture, together with the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and governor offices were instructed to intensify work on the development and support of business initiatives,” Mamin said.

The Employment Roadmap has already streamlined the list of infrastructure projects. The main focus remains on creating permanent jobs and improving the social infrastructure of the regions of the country. It is a total of 6,702 projects that will allow more than 100,000 Kazakh citizens to find a job. Shymkent, Zhambyl region, North Kazakhstan region and East Kazakhstan region stood out this year. Mamin said that this is where the highest rate of the implementation of employment support measures has been observed. The average indicators were reported in Karagandy region, Akmola region, Turkistan region, Aktobe region, Kostanai region, Mangystau region, Almaty region, Pavlodar region, and Atyrau region, as well as in Nur-Sultan and Almaty.
