2.6 million schoolchildren to start their studies remotely this fall
According to the preliminary forecast, starting September 1, 2.6 million schoolchildren are expected to study using an Internet platform and television, Kazakh Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aimagambetov stated at a government meeting. He stressed that the decision has its peculiarities in relation to the epidemiological situation.
“According to the preliminary forecast, 2.6 million schoolchildren will study in a distance format using the Internet platform and television, 530,000 children will be taught in duty classes, and 157,00 students will study in the regular mode,” Aimagambetov said.
He also added that regular old-school format education will be provided to children in remote rural and small schools. Primary school students will start their studies at the request of their parents and in compliance with strict sanitary requirements. As for the duty classes, school children will be admitted there based on parents’ application.
“That is to say, children of duty classes will study in the same classroom with one teacher. Applications to duty classes will be accepted in electronic form through all available means of communication,” Aimagambetov added.
