Second Mobile Blockbuster Film Festival kicks off in Kazakhstan
The ‘Mobile Blockbuster Film Festival’ short film competition will be held in Kazakhstan for the second time. As the name of the festival implies, the short film must be shot with a smartphone camera. ‘Time Machine’ is this year’s theme of the film festival. The authors of the project do not limit the competition participants in the form of expression, the plot and genre of their films. The main requirement is for the short films to correspond to the chosen theme. The contestants can be free in their creativity.
“This competition allows implementing the most daring ideas, even if we are all in quarantine now. I believe that the festival will inspire Kazakh residents and help them channel their potential into creative ways,” said filmmaker Askar Uzabayev.
The minimum duration of the film is one minute, and the maximum duration is 12 minutes. The author of the best work will receive a prize – a smartphone.
In addition, the festival will include free online master classes by eminent cinematographers from Kazakhstan and Russia that will be held every week for two months.
“Our project has already entered the catalogues of international film festivals. We are looking forward to interesting works from you,” said the producer of the short film competition Olessya Kolesnichenko.
Submissions to the competition will open on August 15 and will last until October 15.
