Youth in Kazakhstan regions joins “Bowing down to health workers” campaign
Youth in Kazakhstan joined the campaign in gratitude for health workers at the frontline of the fight against coronavirus. Activists of Zhas Otan Youth Organization from Taraz prepared 100 packages for doctors with products for strengthening immune system. Medical staff of the children’s city hospital, where about 200 patients with coronavirus and pneumonia are being treated, was the first to receive the gift. Local entrepreneurs also joined the campaign, purchasing ten tons of bottled drinking water for five hospitals of the city.
“The campaign will keep going. After five hospitals of the regional center, we plan to give “gratitude packages” to rural doctors. 50 ventilators purchased by entrepreneurs will be delivered to the region’s hospitals the next week,” said Bolatbek Ualikhan, Chairperson of the regional branch of Zhas Otan Youth Organization.
Zhas Otan Youth Organization in Karagandy with volunteers organized a lunch for doctors. In Aktau, volunteers help health workers to receive packages from families of patients and take the parcels to hospital wards.

On June 29, the building of Mangystau regional hospital became a provisional hospital with 550 beds. Students of local medical colleges along with volunteers help doctors and nurses.
“Despite the hot weather, volunteers are active and energetic from morning till night. This saves our time. We are only concerned with patient questions. The volunteers meet the patients' families, receive the parcels and take them to the wards of the intensive care unit with 40 beds. The guys also take care of us. They make us vitamin teas. I would like to thank these people on behalf of our institution,” said Aitbibi Utegenova, chief nurse of the regional hospital.
