Kazakhstan to provide over one million citizens with payments for food
Kazakh Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population worked out and issued an order providing for the payment for food and household sets for July, reported the ministry’s press service. Kazakh citizens begin to receive the payments starting from today, July 20, until the end of the month. People have previously received baskets, but now it was decided to avoid direct contacts to reduce the risk of infection. Citizens will receive money on their bank accounts.
Over one million people will receive the payment of two monthly calculation indexes (MCI), which is a little more than 5,500 tenge (US$13.2). Citizens who are included into five social groups will be the recipients. Local authorities informed that they have already formed lists of people who are supposed to get money for food and household sets. They are children from among the recipients of targeted social assistance aged from 6 to 18, adults raising a child with disabilities as well as registered unemployed citizens. Children with disabilities under 16 and people with disabilities of the first, second and third categories will receive the payments, if they are not permanent residents of medical and social institutions.
At a Government’s meeting held on July 14, Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin instructed the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population to begin paying money to Kazakh citizens for food and household sets.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has previously instructed to strengthen supportive measures for those citizens who were left without their incomes. For this purpose, social welfares, lump sum payments as well as food and household sets were provided.
