Constitutional Council presents book on Nazarbayev’s role in constitutional construction
On July 1, the online presentation of the book ‘The Role of the First President of Kazakhstan in the constitutional construction of independent Kazakhstan’ was held. The book tells about the outstanding role of Nursultan Nazarbayev in the preparation and implementation of the Main Law and in building of modern political and legal system of Kazakhstan. During the online book presentation, Chairperson of the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan Kairat Mami noted that the decision to elaborate a new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 1995 was one of the courageous decisions of the First President.
“Further approval of the Constitution in a referendum on August 30, 1995 gave it supreme legitimacy. The strategy of the First President of Kazakhstan and the will of the people of Kazakhstan merged into a single whole. A quarter century has shown the effectiveness and progressiveness of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. All the success of the independent Kazakhstan is rooted in the loyalty to the values proclaimed in it, which meet the aspirations of the majority of the country’s citizens,” Mami said.
Deputy Executive Director of the Foundation of the First President of Kazakhstan Igor Rogov also made a speech during the online book presentation. He noted that the entire recent history of the constitutional construction in the country is inextricably linked to the name of Nursultan Nazarbayev, who is the founding father of the modern Kazakhstan and its political and legal system.
“By borrowing foreign experience and advanced legal technologies and relying on the domestic legal thought, the First President created a sovereign, a truly Kazakh, new and effective legal system, but the one that meets modern international standards,” Rogov said.
The book was prepared for the birthday of the First President of Kazakhstan and was published as part of the National Action Plan for organizing and holding the 25th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The book, developed by the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan, will now be available in the libraries and on the websites of the Constitutional Council and the Foundation of the First President of Kazakhstan.
