State of emergency ends in Kazakhstan, quarantine continues
The state of emergency introduced in Kazakhstan on March 16 due to the spread of the novel coronavirus ended at midnight on May 11.
Today, on May 11, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will hold a meeting of the State Commission, where he will make a statement. The head of the state will assess the current coronavirus situation in the country and identify the strategy for further actions of the government and other state bodies.
On April 19, President Tokayev signed a decree on the extension of the state of emergency in Kazakhstan until May 11.
Despite the lifting of the state of emergency in Kazakhstan, the coronavirus quarantine restrictions will continue in the cities and regions of the country even after May 11.
