Nur-Sultan State Archive presents a publication cycle dedicated to World War II veterans
Tribute to the heroes of the Second World War for their courage, fearlessness and heroism – they gave their lives for the freedom and peaceful future of their descendants. The remains of many soldiers who died in fierce battles for their country to this day are being found on battlefields.
In anticipation of the 75th Anniversary of the World War II end, the State Archive of the city of Nur-Sultan launched a traditional campaign called “Immortal regiment”. As part of the campaign, the publication cycle based on the archive documents of the war veterans was presented on the official website of the institution. The purpose of the publications is to pay tribute to the feats of the war heroes and to restore their names in the people’s memory, says Director of the Nur-Sultan State Archive Meiram Bektembayev.
“Our goal is to develop the feeling of respect to the Second World War veterans among the people, as well as to revive the historical memory. We want to spread knowledge about the culture and history of our native land, strengthen the national identity and tell the younger generation about the Kazakhs, who died or went missing. People can view the publication cycle on our website - www.nursultan-gosarhiv.kz, or on our Facebook and Instagram,” said Bektembayev.
