Children book about coronavirus was translated into Kazakh

A book for primary school age children about coronavirus specially prepared by English scientists was translated into Kazakh language. Axel Scheffler and experts of Infectious Disease Modelling at London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine illustrated the Gruffalo monster, with whom children are familiar and who they already like. Administration of Kazakh publishing house said that the book explains in a child-friendly way how to protect yourself from the disease and why it is important to stay home. All experts were working on the book unpaid. Nazgul Kozhabek translated the book from English that was then compiled to Kazakh version by Raisa Sairan Kadyr.

The main feature of this book is that it explains in a simple way why it is important to stay home, wash hands, take care of the environment and not disturb parents working online during the state of emergency. All of these actions will contribute to the fight against pandemic. In total, this book teaches children to be responsible,” commented Nazgul Kozhabek.
