Nur-Sultan International Airport’s Code Changes to NQZ
The Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport's current three-letter code has been officially changed to NQZ. Thus, starting from June 8 the new code will be used on tickets, baggage tags and information boards. The negotiations on changing the airport code started in 2017, when the airport was renamed after First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
At first, the code was supposed to be consisted of other letters. It turned out that NAN code is already used by the main airport of Fiji island, while NNA code is used by an airport in Morocco. Even NUR code is already used by Nullarbor, Australia.
In this regard, the decision was made to rename TSE to NQZ.
