Advocacy Office Aimed at Addressing Issues of People with Disabilities

The advocacy office for the protection of the rights of people with disabilities has been launched in Kyzylorda. The memorandum of cooperation was signed by the regional division of the Government for Citizens State Corporation and five public organizations. The office offers consultation on all issues, public services, social benefits, and employment.

Specially trained volunteers will conduct the consultation. At the moment, the advocacy office is initially opened in the city center; however, the representatives of public organizations are planning to establish new branches of the office in all areas of the administrative center.

“One of the departments is responsible for addressing accessible environment issues, while the second organizes training for people with disabilities, and the third department provides consultations in mediation and legal issues. In addition, we have an inclusive group and another department for consultations on housing issues. The office will operate only for people who experience disabilities on everyday basis. Each of the departments has its own schedule and is open daily from 9 am to 1 pm,” said Head of Volunteers of Kyzylorda Public Foundation, Olga Chebakova.
