Abai’s Heritage is Treasure of World Culture
Abai's heritage is a source of national education. The National Museum of Kazakhstan plans to organize a number of events dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the great poet and tell about his life and work.
Today personal belongings of the poet are stored in the museum. One of them is a jar donated by Abai himself to the Semipalatinsk Museum. Manuscripts and other valuable exhibits will be presented to the public. In addition, the exhibition of Zhidebai-Borili historical-cultural and literary-memorial museum reserve is planned to be opened in the National Museum.
“Abai was a well-rounded person. His musical heritage and kui heritage, as well as his contribution to science and education, are of importance. In this regard, the international conference is planned to be organized in order to gather scientists. All of this is part of the goals set by the National Museum of Kazakhstan,” said Deputy Director of National Museum of Kazakhstan, Aibar Kasenali.
