Almaty Plane Crash: Death Toll Rises to 15
Today, at 7.22 am local time, the plane with the flight number Z92100 of BekAir airline was on its way from Almaty to Nur-Sultan, when it lost altitude right after takeoff and broke through concrete walls.
The plane collided with a two-story building. Rescue operations began immediately; fires did not occur. Passengers and the aircraft crew are being evacuated.
Currently, fifteen passengers were reported dead. The Kazakh Prime Minister instructed to form a government commission led by the Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister.
Members of the commission have arrived at the scene of the accident. The cause of the crash will be concluded. Flights of this type of the aircraft are temporarily suspended until the cause will be identified.
According to preliminary data, there were 93 passengers and five crew members on board.
