Otandastar Foundation Provides Support to Compatriots
Ethnic Kazakhs living abroad will continue to receive grants for higher education in their historical homeland next year. Currently, there are about 1,500 university and nearly 700 college students studying in Kazakhstan under the state support, said representatives of Otandastar Foundation.
The foundation provides financial support to ethnic Kazakhs in education, business initiatives and start-up projects. Meanwhile, the Kazakh Government provides scholarship to Kazakh students to study in top foreign universities.
“One of the reasons I came to Kazakhstan is because it was my grandfather’s dream. Throughout all of my childhood, he told us that our homeland is Kazakhstan. He said I should come here one day, get a degree, and after graduation, get a job and work for my country,” said Student of Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Kuralai Bolatbek.
“We are planning to increase the number of scholarships to 1,500 next year. We also provide discount for Bachelor’s degree programs for our students. This is a great opportunity for our compatriots,” said Spokesperson of Otandastar Foundation, Nurymzhan Zhumagaziyev.
