150,000 Kazakhs Study in Universities Abroad
Human capital is the main source of successful development of a country. Today, Kazakhstan actively expands opportunities in this area.
Experts said that high school graduates in Kazakhstan can secure educational grants in nearly 200 European universities. 20,000 Kazakh citizens are eligible for scholarships overseas.
To date, approximately 150,000 Kazakhs study in universities abroad. In 2025 the number of students studying overseas is expected to rise to 400,000.
“To date, we are aware of the globalization process. We should extend beyond our homeland. Therefore, we help young people who want to apply for graduate programs in developed countries in order to have the international experience,” said Spokesperson of Bolashaq Development Fund, Almas Satylganov.
According to Manager for Eastern Europe of FHWS in Germany, Natalya Kudelya, graduates of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools are well-prepared. They speak English very well. They are good at physics and mathematics as well. This year, for the first time, nearly 30 students came from Kazakhstan. Additional students are waiting for their visas. This is a large number, taking into consideration that approximately 150 foreigners apply for such programs.
