Shymbulak in List of the Best CIS Ski Resorts
Kazakhstan’s Shymbulak entered the list of the best ski resorts. The resort ranked second in the list of the most popular destinations for summer holidays in the CIS countries.
The rating was assessed based on the level of attendance and infrastructure development of the leisure resort.
According to the Russian analytical agency TurStat, the Almaty Mountains are superior to the other leisure areas with close proximity to the city center. It has the necessary infrastructure to develop tourism, particularly hiking tours.
Travelers are attracted by the opportunity to go climbing, paragliding, visit the Bambu rope park and climb the Trans-Ili Alatau Mountains.
The Krasnaya Polyana in Sochi is ranked first ahead of the Shymbulak, followed by the mountains of Azerbaijan, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kyrgyzstan and Kabardino-Balkaria.
Experts said that there is an increase of tourists every year. In the same period of last year, there was recorded an increase of 100,000 visitors per year, which is 550,000. Since last year, the resort has been presented at international exhibitions such as in London and in Singapore. The interest of foreign tourists is significantly growing. 25% of the visitors are foreigners.
