Kazakh Tourism authorities organized the first exploratory tour for the tour operators. Representatives of travel agencies will visit recreation facilities in Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent, as well as the regions of Akmola, Turkistan, East Kazakhstan and Almaty.
Within two days in the resorts of Burabai and Zerendi, managers of tour operators and resort facilities signed about 180 agreements. During the trip, manuals will be prepared and Kazakhstan’s resort areas will be promoted among the population.
One of the most attractive tourist destinations is Shymkent. The city is attractive for vacationers due to its warm weather, beautiful sightseeing as well as the historical and cultural monuments and international events. Tourists are also attracted to the hospitality of the south.
Thousands of guests attend the ‘Seyil Koshkarata’ and Tulips Festival each spring. The local authorities pay special attention to the improvement of the tourist infrastructure.
Meanwhile, a new airport terminal is being constructed in Shymkent this year. A football stadium and Congress Center are being built as well. In addition, a railway station is also being reconstructed.
According to experts, citizens of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Malaysia and Kazakhstan often choose Shymkent for religious tourism.
The concept for development of tourist industry in the country until 2023 has been adopted. Among the main tasks are promotion of domestic and foreign tourism and development of regional cultural and tourist clusters as well as the increase of the share of tourist industry in the country's economy.
