A new book on the Kazakh-Chinese relations is about to be published
A new book on the establishment, development and new prospects of the Kazakh-Chinese relations is about to be published. The work that incorporates valuable archival information is the result of cooperation between the experts of the Academy of Social Sciences of Gansu province and the specialists of Kazakhstan’s First President’s Library. The parties negotiated and agreed on the content and the stylistic aspects of translation before publishing the work
CHEN FURONG, SENIOR STAFF, ACADEMY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES:
- The book is titled ‘The History of Friendly Relations between Kazakhstan and China’. It is dedicated to the historical and friendly ties between the two countries. We completed the Chinese version in January. The book consists of 180,000 words. We are currently working on preparation for its publication. We plan to present the book by the end of September.
The book that will serve as a manual for historians will be available for the readers in the Kazakh, Chinese, Russian and English languages. The first edition of the Chinese version of the publication was published in May with more than 1,000 copies. The full edition will be presented at the Third Silk Road International Cultural Expo in Dunhuang.
MA TIAN XU, DEPUTY DIRECTOR, GANSU ACADEMY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE:
- In the Belt and Road Initiative, Shanxi is seen as the beginning of the Silk Road, Gansu is its main part, and Kazakhstan is the heart of the Silk Road. Lanzhou, the main city of the Gansu Province, is the main industrial base for Central, South and West Asia, as well as a trade and logistics centre.
Two years ago, the Gansu Academy of Social Science initiated activities aimed at strengthening ties with countries located along the Silk Road. In the near future, joint research work will be conducted with experts from the Central Asian region.
