Young scientists representing 8 countries gathered in Astana for a forum
Young scientists representing eight countries of the Commonwealth of the Independent States and Central Asia gathered in Astana to discuss prospects of scientific cooperation and innovative solutions. The International Burabay Forum was attended by 100 physicists, economists and political experts. The focus of this year’s forum is a regional partnership. The researchers look forward to co-operating in the fields of tourism, economy, science, culture and agriculture. Scientists from Kyrgyz Agrarian University represented the agricultural sector.
ASSEL NURGAZIYEVA, FORUM PARTICIPANT, KYRGYZSTAN:
- Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are agricultural countries. We attach top priority to food security. We need to join our efforts in ensuring food security and food supply, including ways of making these products, accessible and safe. These activities also include phytosanitary control.
At the forum, Tajik scientists suggested organizing joint projects and research programs in the field of seismology and holding bilateral training for specialists. The republic has an extensive experience in earthquake forecasting. Moreover, the scientists generated and implemented a set of parameters allowing to identify zones of a high degree of seismic hazard.
MENU MAMADYUSSUFOVA, CHAIRPERSON, YOUNG SCIENTISTS’ COUNCIL OF TAJIKISTAN:
- It is a research project. It will be dedicated to climate change, global warming, global cooling and other abnormal natural phenomena that we observe on a daily basis. The scientists will conduct monitoring and perform other activities.
The forum featured panel discussions, section tasks and master classes. The participants focused on the search of innovative approaches and further practical application of the research expertise.
ANDREY KOTELNIKOV, CHAIRMAN, YOUNG SCIENTISTS’ COUNCIL, RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES:
- Projects will be implemented in the future. Here participants gain knowledge, establish contacts, search for potential partners, present their projects and identify the form of interaction. Our task is to provide a platform for an exchange of opinion so that our young specialists have the opportunity to present their joint works.
SHUKHRAT MUKHAMEDOV, DEPUTY DIRECTOR, INSTITUTE OF HISTORY, UZBEKISTAN:
- I believe that the youth of Kazakhstan, just like the young people of other Central Asian countries will use this platform to join their efforts to achieve great results together. I believe that this forum will play a positive role in these developments.
According to organizers, such research events also present an opportunity for young developers to commercialize their projects and bring their research idea to life.
