Competition among future economists was held in Bishkek

Bishkek hosted a competition on the knowledge of the legal framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) among students of leading universities in the country. This year, the competition focused on the topic of marking products produced in the EAEU member countries. The future economists had to offer their insights on the effective introduction of new standards, taking into account the demands of all stakeholders such as purchasers, manufacturers and regulatory bodies.

- Perhaps, I would work for the Government for some time to gain new experience and share my knowledge. However, I think that after some time I will move to the business environment. I will certainly lobby for the business, but still consider the government’s interests.

The best projects will be thoroughly studied by relevant ministries and Government bodies and the ideas given will be implemented. According to the organizers, the competitions provide a great opportunity for future legal and economy specialists to be part of the big project as well as test their knowledge.

- The lack of skilled professionals is one of the biggest issues in Government bodies, which is why this kind of competitions help train competent specialists both for the businesses and the state bodies. It is a training ground for them, like another national championship for athletes. I hope that one day they will reach the Olympic level and become our future Government officials.

Economic departments of the leading Kyrgyz universities, government officials and businessmen agree that such specialized intellectual games help educate students. It is a good idea in Kyrgyzstan’s case as the country is consistently integrating itself in the Eurasian space.
