The tourist potential of Kazakhstan is currently being studied in China. A presentation of Kazakhstan’s former capital city, Almaty will be hosted in Chinese cities, Xi’an and Chengdu. The tour operators in Kazakhstan and China will discuss the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the business-to-business (B2B) format. Kazakhstan’s popularity as a tourist destination has increased remarkably among the Chinese. Well-known Chinese travel bloggers had visited Kazakhstan recently. They were impressed with Kazakh national cuisine, hospitality and the beautiful nature of Shymbulak Ski Resort. Famous travel blogger, Qian Fang Ya has shared her impressions of Kazakhstan on her social media. She has over a million followers and her views of the country have led them to be interested in visiting Kazakhstan.


- I was impressed by Kazakhstan. Everywhere I was greeted with rich dastarkhan, with a lot of delicious food. I haven’t seen such hospitality. Shymbulak is a miracle. Now I share my impressions everywhere. In July, I plan to visit Kazakhstan again.

The unique nature as well as historical and cultural heritage of Almaty attracts more foreign tourists. The region has big potential for tourism. The infrastructure of Alakol resort​​ is designed for up to two million people. Today, over 180 tourist facilities are located there, specifically, hotels, sanatoriums, houses and recreation centers. A new airport was opened in Usharal as well as the construction of a new railway harbor. The budget allocated for the railway construction is over 200 million Tenge from the Republican budget. Tourists can now visit the lake from Almaty by train.


- This year direct flights from Astana, Almaty, Oskemen and Semey to Usharal airport at the coast of Lake Alakol will be introduced. These flights are subsidized by the Government and from local budget. A special tourist train from Almaty to Lake Alakol will also be introduced every summer. It is also subsidized from the local budget.
