Famous scientist Ilber Ortayli has visited Kazakhstan
Famous scientist and a significant personality in the world of Turkic studies, Ilber Ortayli has visited Kazakhstan. He is an honorary professor at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as a member of the international Osmanly research committee, and the Iranian Research Society in Europe. Ilber Ortayli is an author of many precious works. In his lecture, he highlighted the importance of Turkic cooperation in research works. The professor supported Kazakhstan’s initiative of Latin alphabet transition. According to him, the new version of the Kazakh alphabet is unique and very convenient. Representatives of the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center and Nazarbayev University organized a conference. Previously, a meeting with the Turkologist was held in Almaty.

- The main goal of this conference is to review the general research topics of the modern Turkic world. In addition, as part of the conference we are interested in discussing our common values and future plans.

- A number of international teachers work at our university. We do not consider Turkology as the main subject but we want to conduct classes with other departments. We plan to launch a master's degree and PhD.
