Humanitarian aid from Kazakhstan arrives in Afghanistan

The ceremony of transferal of Kazakhstan’s humanitarian aid to Afghan residents affected by flash floods took place in Kabul, Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported. The humanitarian assistance from Kazakhstan was handed over by Kazakh Ambassador to Afghanistan Alimkhan Yessengeldiyev. Food baskets containing flour, pasta, sunflower oil and condensed milk will be distributed to more than 5,000 families in need. On behalf of the government and people of Afghanistan, Governor of Kabul Province Mohammad Yaqub Haidari and State Minister for Disaster Management Ghulam Bahauddin Jilani expressed gratitude for the help and support provided by Kazakhstan during the difficult time.

In turn, Yessengeldiyev stressed Kazakhstan’s friendly attitude towards Afghanistan. He mentioned that his country provides all kinds of support to the countries of the region, including Afghanistan, in this difficult situation.

Humanitarian cargo from Kazakhstan was distributed among residents affected by floods in eight Afghan provinces. In addition to Kabul Province, similar food baskets were delivered to the provinces of Balkh, Parwan, Panjshir, Logar, Wardak, Baghlan and Samangan.
