Iran Unintentionally Shot Down Aircraft in Tehran
U.S and Canadian officials announced that Iran had unintentionally shot down an aircraft that was flying over Tehran, which resulted in the crash of the Ukraine International Airlines’ Boeing 737 plane. Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau issued a statement stating an intelligence proving that the aircraft was shot down by an Iranian surface-to-air missile. The U.S also made a similar statement. Donald Trump made the following statement:
“I had my suspicions. I don't want to say that because other people have their suspicions also. It's a tragic thing, but somebody could have made a mistake on the other side. It was flying in a pretty rough neighborhood, and somebody could have made a mistake. Some people say it was mechanical. I personally don't think that's even a question.”
President Trump said that Iran should hand in the black box to aircraft manufacturer, Boeing or to France for investigation. The flight recorder is reported to be damaged. Aviation specialists from Ukraine have arrived in Tehran where they will begin to decode the data very soon.
