KAZAKHSTAN’S CONTRIBUTION TO WORLD STABILITY
The United Nations General Assembly announced the World Interfaith Harmony Week from February 1st until 7th. The main goal of the event is to build connections between different religions in order to avoid conflicts and disagreements. Today, Kazakhstan is actively taking the noble tasks of harmonizing interethnic and interfaith relations. An important initiative of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev is to organize congresses of leaders of the world and traditional religions. One of the active supporters of such large forums is the Secretary General of the World Conference of Religions for Peace, William Vendley.
WILLIAM VENDLEY, SECRETARY GENERAL, WORLD CONFERENCE OF RELIGIONS FOR PEACE
- Under the rule of religions and helping to build a safe and peaceful world. This is what we need. My heart goes out with gratitude to all members of Kazakhstan, to its government for being a pioneer in the international community on the positive role of the world’s religions in building a flourishing and a good world, a safe world for all of us.
International experts in the United Nations Security Council highlighted Kazakhstan’s great contribution to ensuring peace and stability. Despite the completion of work in the council, Kazakhstan continues its specific contribution to peace and security, (including the participation of Kazakh soldiers in the United Nation forces in Lebanon). (The international community highly appreciated the works of the peacekeepers).
