Modernization of Kazakhstan’s Identity program celebrates 3-year anniversary
Modernization of Kazakhstan’s Identity program initiated by the First President of Kazakhstan marks three-year anniversary. Many activities aimed at spiritual revival were held as a part of this project during this time. In more than 90,000 campaigns held 12 million people participated, 2,600 socially important facilities were built and over 2,000 monuments were reconstructed. A list of Kazakhstan’s holy places was created as a result of work on systematization of historical and cultural heritage. The reconstruction of Otyrar city has begun. Ulytau, Otyrar and Tanbaly visit centers opened. 27 architectural Kazakh monuments were converted into digital 3D versions.
Anthology of Kazakh modern fine art” catalogue was published in Kazakh, Russian and English languages in 2018 as a part of the program. Works of Kazakh prose and poetry were translated into six languages of the United Nations. 77 humanities textbooks were translated into Kazakh, 47 of them were donated to universities. A new subject of local history was introduced into the curriculum of 5th and 7th grades as part of the Tugan Zher (Motherland) special project. Thirteen special projects are being implemented at the moment.
“More than 600 holy places in Kazakhstan were determined due to special projects. To date, mayoral offices provided infrastructure to over 200 holy places. Guides are taught to present and tell about these places to local citizens and tourists,” said Kemelbek Oishybayev, a board member of Kazakh Institute of Social Development of Modernization of Kazakhstan’s Identity.
