The International Green Technologies Center will be opened in Kazakhstan
The International Green Technologies Center will be opened in Kazakhstan. The center will focus on formation of a register of green technologies and expertise. According to the Energy department, the center will be created based on the Electric Power and Energy Saving Development Institute. In the summer the center will be located in the best practices area on the territory of Astana EXPO 2017. To date, the Institute has selected 105 technologies and has started working on the implementation. Experts will assess to what extent the projects are environmentally friendly, innovative, energy efficient and applicable in the country. The World Bank provided the US$21.7 million financial support. As part of the special program, it is planned to modernize social facilities, schools, hospitals and street lighting.

- The head of state noted the use of technologies presented at Astana EXPO 2017, particularly, nearly 150 international technologies and 27 technologies from Kazakhstan. We are planning to use Kazakhstan’s technologies as part of this project. In addition, we are forming an Energy Efficiency Card, where a pool of projects are already implemented and require investments. The site of the Institute is ready for the future activities of the International Green Technologies Center.
