Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived for an official visit in the United States to participate in the events held as part of Kazakhstan presidency in the UN Security Council. The head of state met with the US President Donald Trump in the White House. During the visit scheduled for January 18, the President of Kazakhstan will report on "Non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction: confidence-building measures in the UN Security Council. Furthermore, the UN Security Council will hold a ministerial debate regarding the situation in Afghanistan and regional security in Central Asia. The UN Security Council, as an organization, has the primary responsibility for maintaining peace and global security. The use of military force by the UN Security Council on preventing the aggression of one state against another in 1950 during the Korean War and Iraq's aggression against Kuwait in 1990 has become decisive one. The use of force by the United Nations to conduct peacekeeping operations in the former Yugoslavia, Somalia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kosovo, East Timor and elsewhere has also been justified.
