Kazakhstan’s investment attractiveness

$265 billion has been invested in the economy of Kazakhstan since independence. This figure is expected to grow as a result of strengthening investment safety mechanisms. Kazakhstan has carried out many reforms to create favorable conditions for foreign businessmen. The registration processes have been accelerated, the banking system has been improved, experts say. At present, Kazakhstan occupies one of the leading positions in the world in terms of investors’ protection. Kazakhstan is on the third place among 190 Doing Business countries of the World Bank. The Republic is also improving the international legal framework for the promotion and mutual protection of investments. Kazakhstan has signed dozens of bilateral and multilateral agreements with leaders in direct investment. The Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) will also help attract them. The Astana International Financial Center will follow the rules of English law, with independent arbitration to protect assets.

- Starting from January 1, 2018, Astana International Financial Center will operate on the EXPO site. It will have an independent court and an international arbitration center. The peculiarity of this court is that it will work on the principles of England and Wales, proceedings will be conducted in English language. These courts will be completely detached from the national courts and they will have their own appeal. They will not be appealed to the state courts.
