The CIS countries have all the chances to launch new mutually beneficial projects, analysts and political scientists say. In the last meeting in Sochi, the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries confirmed their interest in further comprehensive deepening of integration. President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev proposed to intensify the work on the draft agreement on free trade in services and to adopt it in the near future. The economic benefits from participation in the CIS are obvious: the trade turnover between the Commonwealth countries has increased by 25% since the beginning of the year and reached $75 billion. Simplification of customs procedures will also boost trade within the EAEU. According to experts, this is important, especially due to a growing number of countries willing to join the union.

- This platform is used multilaterally for the bilateral dialogue in order to solve issues that the CIS countries face in relation to each other whether there are political or economic issues. It is very difficult to reach some kind of consensus when more than 10 countries participate. Every country has already identified and advanced its path of development. Nevertheless, the CIS is a bridge that connects countries and people.
Tajikistan which takes over the CIS presidency after Russia, proposed joint projects in the energy industry. Turkmenistan which received the co-chair status on its own initiative has focused on transportation and logistics issues.
