Significant amendments have been made to Kazakhstan’s legislation. They are aimed at modernizing the state structure and strengthening the responsibility of all branches of power. The amendments are made to redistribute powers between the branches of governemtn. Thus, the Kazakh President transfers his 30 powers to the Government and the Parliament.

The amended Constitution, which was adopted on the basis of truly nationwide discussion, can be with all certainty called the Constitution of the consent and consolidation of the nation. Having signed this historic law, the Kazakh President expressed his high confidence, and we are obliged to justify his trust with honor.
Further amendments to the legal documents and laws will be introduced in order to meet the new requirements of the Constitution.

There are many laws that need to be amended in accordance with the Constitution. It usually takes up to 2 years. Here are some amendments, for instance: ‘actions that violate interethnic consent are recognized as unconstitutional’. We have also added amendments to the inter-confessional accord.
Thus, the amendments strengthen the role of Kazakhstan’s parliament and improve its political system. The amendments also increase the accountability of the legislative body that is to defend the people’s interests. It will improve cooperation between the government and the citizens.
