Volume of processed cargo at Khorgos-East gate to exceed four million tons by 2020
Volume of cargo handling in the special economic zone ‘Khorgos - East Gate’ will total more than four million tons per year. This level is planned to be reached by 2020. As the Managing Director of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund noted in the Mazhilis, in the framework of the project is expected to create about 10 thousand jobs. SEZ will consist of a dry port, logistics and industrial zones. At present, work on filling them is underway. Nurlan Rakhmetov also presented a detailed report on implementation of budgetary funds allocated to infrastructure development.

Total cost is 83.3 billion tenge. Including 36.8 billion tenge from the republican budget that are spent on the infrastructure and 46.5 billion tenge are the own funds of Kazakhstan National Railway Operator. They are mostly spent on the dry port. 51 key main facilities out of 68 were already completed. Full development of the budget funds and commissioning of the remaining 17 facilities will be implemented until September this year.
