Road Show Astana Hub: Kazakh Startups Involved in Global Technology Platforms

The best IT projects by Kazakh startup developers will be presented at the world’s largest technology exhibitions for the second time. The roadshow program continues to be implemented by Astana Hub. Analysts said that large-scale projects provide an opportunity for young talents to promote ideas, establish contacts, gain new experience and most importantly attract foreign investments.

“It looks like it is going to be some of the same cities and countries that we did last year. For example, in Singapore, we are still looking at doing something with Shanghai, we also have closer to home. We don’t always need to go really far to get some benefits, Baku for example, or Belarus and other places that we can go to. The trick is to match the startups with the benefit of going to these different areas,” said General Director of Astana Hub International Technology Park, Joseph Ziegler.

The number of ambitious participants ready to be involved in the global IT sphere is increasing every year. 19 business ideas out of 1,000 were selected last year in Kazakhstan. These include projects in cybersecurity, smart city, finance, biotechnology as well as transport and logistics.

“We came to know many partners because our project is international. It was created not only for Kazakhstan but also for the global market. At least, we want to develop it in the CIS and in the future, we plan to enter the Southeast Asia market,” said Founder of Startup Project, Kanat Keldibekov.

The first stage of the program has been fruitful. Astana Hub has signed agreements with leading technology parks and innovative companies from Singapore, Ukraine, Russia, the United Kingdom, and China. Work on the expansion of international partnerships will continue this year as well.
