Kazakh scientists received opportunity as part of the European Union’s program "Horizon 2020"
Kazakh researchers’ innovative projects are entering the international market. Kazakh scientists received such opportunity as part of the European Union’s program "Horizon 2020". It finances research around the world to address global problems and sustainable development. 80 billion euros of funding is available over seven years. It is planned to allocate 30 billion euros in the next three years. Over 625 Kazakhstani projects have been implemented in various fields in just 20 years of the program's existence.
TRAIAN HRISTEA, HEAD OF EUROPEAN UNION DELEGATION TO KAZAKHSTAN:
- These are sciences about the earth; these are advanced research directions such as nano-technologies and biotechnologies. The most important thing is to establish partnership between Kazakhstani and other research institutes in the region or the European Union. These projects should have specific goals for the development of new knowledge that could then be introduced in the local or European market.
