New mobile app notifies of COVID-19 infection risk
People in Kazakhstan will be able to find out about contacting with the COVID-19 infected via mobile application. A special development “Saqbol” allows a citizen who tested positive for coronavirus anonymously alert other users who have been in contact with him or her in the past 14 days. The project inventors hope that the innovation will significantly reduce the risk of the infection.
“It would say, “Dear someone, one of your contacts tested positive.” The person will receive recommendations, such as to go to a doctor and take a PCR test. For example, if you or I will get this message, I will not even know who it was, maybe it’s my neighbor who lives nearby or a passenger in a bus,” said Saule Yermekkyzy, Spokesperson for National Information Technologies JSC.
