Novel coronavirus pneumonia detection program has been presented in the city of Taldykorgan. The disease can be diagnosed at an early stage now. The system was created at the situation center of the city’s multidisciplinary hospital that specializes in cancer and lung diseases. The algorithm is able to find symptoms of pneumonia on X-rays of patients. Nearly 2,000 patients were successfully examined in a test mode of the know-how. The program is planned to be spread throughout the region. 17 medical institutions are connected to it so far. The project authors, including IT specialists from Kazakhstan and Turkey, assured that the program has no analogues in the CIS.
“The system utilizes three-factor analysis, detecting high, medium and low levels of risk. It also shows where the disease is located in a body in percentages. The system’s sensitivity is 96 percent at the moment. Its main advantage is that if something was missed, a doctor can pointed it out, and the algorithm will update. The system is self-learning,” said Yerlan Zhanibekov, Director of an IT Company.
