Kazakhstan plans to establish production of ventilators
As press service of Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development reported, Kazakhstan and Turkish entrepreneurs plan to produce ventilators.
“Serial production of these devices was launched in April in Turkey. To date, Biyovent ventilation has already been provided for testing in an infectious center in Nur-Sultan. Based on the results, a decision will be made on the localization of production,” said Amir Akhmetov, Project Manager of the Project Department No. 2 of “KAZAKH INVEST”.
Moreover, Kazakh Health Minister Alexey Tsoy said that Kazakhstan plans to establish industrial production of vital equipment in August and the first batch of 595 units will be sent to healthcare organizations.
To date, the country’s hospitals have 966 ventilators. Experts said that another 5,000 ventilation devices will be needed in the worst-case scenario of the coronavirus pandemic. Nearly 50 billion tenge (US$121.4 million) are planned to be allocated for the purchase of equipment from various sources.
