COVID-19 cases in Kazakhstan reach 6,440

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Kazakhstan significantly increased over the past weekend. In the last 24 hours alone, 283 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country, including 86 in Atyrau region, 60 in Shymkent, 46 in Almaty, 20 in Nur-Sultan, 19 in Turkistan region, 18 in Karagandy region, 13 in West Kazakhstan region, eight in Mangystau region, three in Almaty region, three in Pavlodar region, two in North Kazakhstan region, two in Zhambyl region, one in Akmola region, one in Kostanai region and one in Kyzylorda region. The growth of the coronavirus cases in the country amounted to 4.6 percent.

To date, there are 6,440 COVID-19 cases in Kazakhstan, including 1,848 in Almaty, 1,251 in Nur-Sultan, 627 in Atyrau region, 404 in Shymkent, 323 in West Kazakhstan region, 250 in Karagandy region, 246 in Kyzylorda region, 228 in Aktobe region, 222 in Turkistan region, 209 in Almaty region, 205 in Zhambyl region, 165 in Pavlodar region, 161 in Mangystau region, 126 in Akmola region, 79 in Kostanai region, 58 in East Kazakhstan region and 38 in North Kazakhstan region.

A total of 3,256 COVID-19 patients in Kazakhstan reported to have recovered. The overall coronavirus-related death toll in the country stands at 34.
