The coronavirus situation remains tense in Europe. Spain is the second worst virus-hit country in the world. However, there is a glimmer of hope as the country reports a fourth consecutive fall in its daily death toll.

Italy’s COVID-19 death toll has been lowering in recent days as well, however yesterday the number of deaths from coronavirus in the country rose again. However, the country is now worried about the health condition of the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, whose condition has worsened since being hospitalized with persistent COVID-19 symptoms. He was moved to the intensive care unit.

Nevertheless, China, where the novel coronavirus originated from, has reported no new coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours for the first time since January.

South Korea also has good news, it reported fewer than 50 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours, one of the lowest daily reported numbers for the country since February. The country has altogether reported 10,284 cases of infection. South Korea has been widely praised for its efforts to reduce the spread of coronavirus by mass testing its people. Those, who tested positive for COVID-19, were placed under strict quarantine immediately. People, who had a contact with the infected patients were tracked.
