Several Regions Take Restrictive Measures in Kazakhstan

A few more regions in Kazakhstan will be under quarantine starting from March 31. The restrictive measures will come into force in Akmola region at 7 p.m. Shopping malls and service facilities will be closed, entry and leave of all types of transport will be banned except for transit vehicles, trucks with food and essential goods.

Almaty region reinforces restrictive measures. Pharmacies and stores will stay open between 08.00 to 20.00. Second-tier banks, post offices and notaries will work from 10.00 to 16.00.

Large shopping malls suspend their work in the Zhambyl region. Grocery shops will remain open between 10.00 and 17.00.

Mayor of Shymkent city Murat Aitenov has made a televised address to the city residents. Starting from 21:00 tonight, additional restrictions will be imposed involving a ban on entering and leaving the city, except for transit vehicles and those ensuring vital activities of the city. All residents will have to wear medical face masks.
The restrictive measures in Northern Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions will come into force on April 1. Roadblocks will be established at entrances.
