Number of Coronavirus Cases Exceeds 214,000 Globally

The number of coronavirus cases has exceeded 214,000 globally, World Health Organization reported. More than 80 percent of all the cases are in Europe and Asia Pacific. The United States has confirmed over 9,000 cases and 150 deaths. To date, COVID-19 cases have been confined in every European country.  Civil Protection Department reported nearly 36,000 cases in Italy, and 475 new deaths over the past 24 hours. 2,000 cases and 71 deaths are registered in the United Kingdom. coronavirus has claimed 14 lives in Belgium.

Russia has the biggest number of cases among the Commonwealth of Independent States. According to the latest data, 147 people there were diagnosed with COVID-19. Over 100 people are infected in Armenia, 51 in Belarus, where five people have recovered. Uzbekistan has reported 18 cases, while the number of cases in Kyrgyzstan has reached three. 

Over 81,000 cases are confirmed in China. Not a single new case was reported in Wuhan, the epicenter of COVID-19, in the past 24 hours for the first time since the start of the epidemic.

Malaysia has reported over 700 coronavirus cases and two deaths.

Iran has confirmed nearly 17,000 cases, the third largest number of cases after China and Italy.
