Astana EXPO 2017
Kazakhstan is still receiving feedback on how successful Astana EXPO 2017 was and reaping the fruits of the event. As part of the large-scale event, Astana hosted hundreds of international negotiations where numerous agreements on cooperation were signed. Ukraine won a Bronze award for presentation of the Future Energy theme and for the most business-oriented stand. Moreover, Ukraine signed 11 memorandums and concluded a number of commercial contracts in Astana.
SERGEY SAVCHUK, HEAD, UKRAINIAN STATE AGENCY:
- First, we won several prizes in different nominations. This means that our work was effective. Our pavilion presented more than one hundred potential projects, which are ready to produce energy from the Sun, wind and biomass. These projects are ready for investment. As a result, we signed several memorandums with companies from all over the world.
The exhibition gave an impetus to further development of the Kazakh-Ukrainian relations. As part of the EXPO 2017, the two countries held a joint business forum which led to new bilateral projects.
SERGEY SVISTIL, VICE PRESIDENT, UKRAINIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY:
- This is ‘a springboard’ for expansion of economic cooperation between Ukraine and Kazakhstan. More than 50 Kazakh companies attended our business forum. We made nearly 200 contacts among the businessmen of Kazakhstan who are interested in cooperating with Ukraine. All of this will lead to good results.
Chief Editor of a business magazine Community, Tatyana Lyulka is pleased with the results of cooperation with Kazakhstan, too. She was in charge of bringing two Ukrainian business delegations to Astana EXPO 2017. In addition, the exhibition helped Tatyana realize two significant projects, particularly, to hold a children's city of professions and to open a representative office in Astana.
TATYANA LYULKA, CHIEF EDITOR, COMMUNITY MAGAZINE:
- This exhibition has become a highlight to us since our country is ready to show its capabilities and opportunities it offers. We are ready and not ready at the same time because we need to improve some areas, but I'm sure about one thing: Ukraine has a lot of good companies and a lot of good technologies which the country is ready to export.
During the exhibition, the Ukrainian pavilion welcomed nearly 900,000 visitors including business representatives and tourists. This summer, Ukraine was also among the countries with the largest amount of tourists traveling to Astana to visit the EXPO 2017.
