‘Western Europe, Western China’: Multiplier effect

The launch of the 495 kilometers of the international ‘Western Europe, Western China’ transit corridor has ensured the multiplier effect of the economy of Zhambyl region. Today, this route becomes a platform for business development. Roadside service facilities are actively being constructed along the highway. A logistics center is being built in the Kulan rural district. The center will provide services for up to 800 entrepreneurs a day.


 - One cargo will arrive here and from this place another cargo will head to China, for example. The transshipment base will be located here. Some businessmen will unload their cargo and others will take away. We can fully provide them with security and video surveillance.

The territory of the complex is six hectares. The complex is equipped with a restaurant, a hotel, a parking lot and a gas station. There is even a mini market, where local residents will have the opportunity to sell their agricultural products. Investors intend to allocate over 700 million tenge into this project. To date, the 30% of work is completed.

Specialists highlight that the cargo flow on the route increases every month with peak traffic estimated at over 7,500 vehicles per day. Therefore, the demand for roadside facilities also increases. In the future, the facilities will be placed at every 25 kilometers of the route.


 - The national standards for integrated road service facilities were introduced. Therefore, it is very important to meet these national standards. It is divided into 4 categories: A, B, C and D.

This year, the five roadside service facilities will be built along the “Western Europe, Western China” route. Three additional facilities will be built until 2020.
