Nazarbayev’s article ‘Spiritual Testament of Abai’ has special historical significance
The article ‘Spiritual Testament of Abai’ by the First President of Kazakhstan is not just statement of the facts of the biography and legacy of the great Kazakh poet and philosopher, but an insight into Kazakhstan’s historical past. In the opinion of intellectuals, the publication has a profound philosophical meaning. In almost all stages of the formation of the independent Kazakhstan, Abai’s ‘Words of Edification’ served as the basis for the pivotal decisions of Nursultan Nazarbayev. As time has shown, they were the right ones.
“Abai paid a lot of attention to education. He encouraged his nation to broaden their worldview. Our great ancestor said that preserving national identity and adapting it to modern realities would open up new opportunities for spiritual development. The poet never lost hope. He always looked with hope at the younger generation,” said a writer Smagul Yelubai.
“The historical value of the article of the First President of Kazakhstan is very high. It conveys important ideas for the creation of a decent society, which are reflected in Abai’s works. This is necessary for our future generations,” noted Dariya Kozhamzharova, Rector of the Auezov South Kazakhstan State University.
