Kazakh artists prepare new program for French audiences
Coronavirus and its effects in France did not prevent the start of the traditional season of Kazakh culture. This year, Kazakh artists have to work online, and French audience will enjoy performances on the Internet. The season was opened live in Parc Monceau, Paris. The main sanitary requirements of organizers were facemasks and limited number of visitors. They said that they had to adapt the entire program for this fall as well.
“This year, taking into account new circumstances, sanitary barriers and restrictions around the world, we decided to continue our tradition, which is already loved by French audience, and switch to the digital, and sometimes hybrid format. Thus, everyone not only in France can watch and enjoy the Kazakh culture thanks to advanced technologies,” said Kazakh Ambassador to France Jean Galiyev.
French spectators will be able to watch online plays of the Abai Kazakh State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet and the ‘Astana Musical’ theatre, live broadcasts of the Zhambyl Philharmonic and ethnographic ensemble concerts as well as video exhibitions of the Kasteyev Museum of Arts.
“This year, thanks to Dimash Kudaibergen and other factors, there are a lot of people interested in Kazakh culture. We are very happy about that. They come to every event and ask to share books and information. We, of course, are happy to share our culture in France, this is our task,” said co-founder of the Korkyt Cultural Centre Aigerim Yersainova.
Despite the deteriorating epidemiological situation, interest in Kazakh culture in France is only growing. The Korkyt Cultural Centre in the new academic year expanded the educational program at the request of students. Kazakhstan autumn in this country promises not only to learn more about the famous figures and musical groups, but also to introduce new names to French people.
