Kazakh Notre Dame de Paris to Be Performed in Central Asia
The Kazakh version of famous musical, Notre Dame de Paris will be performed in Central Asian countries such as Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in the next three years.
Director of the Kazakh State Concert Organization, Zhenis Seidullauly said the original storyline and musical compositions for the upcoming performances will be retained.
He also said that more than 70 actors, singers, dancers and acrobats will be involved in the musical while all their costumes will be made in Kazakhstan.
“The world famous musical was performed for more than 11 million spectators last year. It was performed in the Kazakh language for the first time. This is a success for Kazakhstan and Central Asia,” Seidullauly added.
Notre Dame de Paris musical is an adaption from a novel of the same title, written by French novelist Victor Hugo. The legendary love musical was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the most successful musical worldwide.
Kazakhstan is the 10th country to perform the musical in its own language from Dec. 18th until Dec. 24th 2018.
Meanwhile, a musical performance on Kazakh hero, Karakypshak Koblandy will also be staged in Central Asia.
